Peace Culture Association gathers migrant youth like a honeycomb

Peace Culture Association announces the launch of Romanian Network of Young Migrant Organizations project. The initiative is a project realized with the support of the Royal Embassy of Netherlands through Matra – KAP Program.

Peace Culture Association launches the Romanian Network of Young Migrant Organizations project, aiming to gather Young Migrants Organisations in a strong and effective network that will facilitate the migrants’ integration in the respect of human rights values. Also, the project wants to respond to the need of communication and cooperation between young migrants organizations existing in Romania. By means of this project, Peace Culture Association wishes to create a permanent forum of debate and an online working platform with representatives of the young migrants’ communities. This network of organizations will have as a result to ensure the exchange of best practices with representatives of similar networks and organizations from other European Countries, and also, to involve young migrants in a consultative mechanism thus created.

The target group for the Romanian Network of Young Migrants Organizations includes young migrants between 18 and 30 years old, Young Migrants Organizations, as well as young migrants informal groups. The project is realized with the support of the Royal Embassy of Netherlands through Matra – KAP Program.

The initiative aims to fulfil the following objectives: combat racism and discrimination by making young migrants’ voices stronger and more united through the creation and consolidation of a communications framework at the national level; support the development of a virtual professional community of the Young Migrants’ Organizations in Romania; integrate within similar networks on EU level; setting the conditions for an efficient and effective collaboration between Young Migrants Organizations and professionals, local and central public administration bodies, economic operators and representatives of civil society, in order to work together towards migrants’ integration.

“All these objectives will be supported by several achievements: a study on the Young Migrants’ Organizations; a network of Young Migrants Organizations; a consultation mechanism setup”, says Ioana Niang, President of Peace Culture Association.

Peace Culture Association is a non-governmental organization, established in 2002. Its main goals are the promotion of values, attitudes and behaviors reflecting respect for life, for human beings dignity and for human rights. Peace Culture Association adheres and works to bring truth to the principles of justice, solidarity, tolerance and understanding amongst people, groups and individuals.
Through the Romanian Network of Young Migrants Organizations project, the Association offers strategic support for capacity building, networking and the dissemination of good practice to build a strong and united movement in Romania; support to integrate in the European movement; empowerment of the youth in their ability to build together independent, democratic, representative and inclusive associations.
